About the North County Food Bank

Established in 1977, The Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank and our North County Food Bank chapter (acquired in October of 2015) comprise the largest hunger-relief organization in San Diego County. Last year, the Food Bank distributed 32 million pounds of nutritious food with the help of more than 500 nonprofit partners and serves, on average, 350,000 people per month in San Diego County.

Surprisingly, 192,000 North County residents are “food insecure” meaning that they live in low-income households and often do not know how they will get their next meal. With the community’s support, the North County Food Bank will continue to expand our services to underserved areas of North County so that seniors, families, and children living in poverty do not have to face a daily battle against hunger.
